Antique Bronze Plating

Antique bronze is a decorative finish that we can apply to a variety of fixtures and fittings to give an aged appearance. It can be applied to existing metals such as stainless steel, zinc castings, mild steel, aluminium, brass and copper to add a touch old colour and distinction to your item. We use specialist equipment and techniques to ensure the highest standard of finish.

Aged Bronze

If you are looking for a warm and copper metal finish that gives an authentic aged exterior, then aged bronze is the perfect option. Our experienced team can coat fixtures and fittings of all kinds from hotels to shop fits, leaving you with a unique and traditional look.

Bronze Plating FAQS

Bronze electroplating uses electricity to create a layer of coating. Depending on the item and thickness of coating it can vary on how long the process will take to complete. Initially, we will prepare the electroplating solution, we will then suspend the piece in the solution and cover it. Once this is completed, we will get started with the plating, a bronze electrode is placed into the solution. Then a charge is applied which causes the bronze to migrate to the workpiece so that is plated.

Unfortunately, yes it will over time. While bronze is a hard metal with a high-water resistance, it is not immune from tarnishing or oxidisation.

To take care of your items and retain the finish, make sure you regularly clean and maintain them by getting rid of any oil or other contaminants from metal. You can do this by gently wiping them with a cloth cleaning solution made from baking soda and lemon juice.
